Your wine tasting experience takes place at the 68, rue Jean-Jacques Rousseau, in the first arrondissement. The cellar is just a short walk from the metro station "Louvre-Rivoli" on line 1 or Etienne Marcel on line 4.

Your tasting will take place in an absolutely beautiful 17th century Parisian building, which is a 5-minute walk from the Louvre. Your tasting room is atmospheric and beautifully decorated. The space also offers a wine bar for you to unwind, eat and relax before or after your tasting.

You can select from three wine tasting sessions:

Wine and cheese tasting lunch: Beginning with a flute of champagne, you will be expertly guided through a wonderful tasting experience by a French sommelier. Enjoy a ‘Tasting Lunch’ that will allow you to learn first hand about food and wine pairing as well as wine tasting techniques. At the end of the session, you’ll have a better understanding of France’s major wine regions and a greater appreciation for French wine, including its champagne.

A presentation by an English-speaking sommelier will be given to you. You will taste 5 (white and red) French wines including champagne and a selection of cheeses, cold meats and breads.

French Wine Introductory: An English-speaking wine sommelier will guide you through the tasting of three delicious French wines. Your wine expert will teach you the basics of French wine. Learn in detail about the art of tasting and appreciation, and France’s major wine regions. You will sample 3 (white and red) French wines.

Tour de France of Wine: A presentation by an English-speaking sommelier will teach you all the basics about French wine. You will taste a wonderful variety of French wines, from Alsace to Bordeaux, Burgundy to the Rhone Valley. This includes sampling 6 (white and red) French wines, including one Champagne and a selection of breads. With a unique and refreshing approach, the French sommelier will teach you how to read a French label and how to navigate a wine list.

You will also learn about the art of wine appreciation and strategies for pairing food and wine. Learn more about the major French wine regions and the interesting details that make French wines unique.

Your tour ends at the wine cellar.

Please note that before or after your tasting, you can decide to hang out at the adjacent wine bar which offers everyday a selection of 40 wines by the glass, great food, friendly staff, beautiful decor and a fun atmosphere - the best wine bar in Paris really.

Jessica L Caldwell

This was so much fun! I learned all kinds of little things about wine that I had no idea about! Great wine tasting lunch!

Rukminjohn Hettiarachchy

Very basic introduction to wine tasting. Very knowledgeable and friendly host (Quinton). My wife and I were very happy with the experience.

Kevin M Sanders

The guide was extremely knowledgeable, spoke excellent English, was a great communicator, and was very friendly, open to all questions. The choice of wines (3 reds, 3 whites, which included a champagne) was informative of French winemaking, delightful, and affordable. If you buy a cheese or meat flight (sampling), I suggest not getting one per person. Either should serve two persons. I was a solo traveller so I shared my cheeses with someone else. A very good “tour” which will make you want to go to the various wine regions of France, especially Champagne. O Chateau itself is a wine bar you should enjoy on its on merits.

Roberto Sanchez

Is was a great introduction to wine. The presenter made everyone feel very comfortable and made everyone get to know each other and their knowledge levels of wine tasting. I wish it could have been a little longer. Very very worthwhile.
